Director KIM's purpose behind [Please Teach Me English~!] is to show that learning English doesn't have to be a stressful task. It could be an enjoyable comedy. And honestly, this film really is a film one can enjoy and laugh even if he only knows sorry and thank you. Young-ju represents all ESL [Note: ESL- English as Second Language] people who have battled with English for all their lives. Like so many people in the world, Young-ju gave up English early on in her adolescent life, when she realized she has absolutely no talent for this unfathomable language. However, with new burning passion in her heart as her driving force, she dives in again head first and eventually she discovers the true meaning ofcommunication and even conquers her own weakness. [Please Teach Me English~!] is a heartwarming story that will inspire and give hope to so many discouraged English students all around the world with lots of laughter!
